The Keuka, Canandaigua, Seneca and Cayuga Lake Wine Trails each consist of a group of wineries who join together for specific "wine trail events". This can add some fun and convenience to your winery touring experience in the Finger Lakes. Most of the events are reasonably priced and participants may receive one or more gifts at each of the wineries. Usually included in the event ticket price is a wine trail logo wine glass, tastings and snacks at all of the participating wineries and more.
Each lake's wine trail has different events on different weekends. If you check out their individual schedules, chances are good there may be a wine trail event going on during your visit to the area. Let it be known that some of the events are very popular. They sell-out rather quickly and attract big crowds. If you would like a more intimate setting for your wine tastings about the Finger Lakes, it's best to steer clear of the wine trail events! In fact, the best time, in this writer's opinion, to visit the wineries is during the off-season or on a weekday. The representatives of the wineries are more relaxed and have more time to give information when it's not crowded. But, the wine trail events are still a lot of fun. If you haven't ever joined in on one, check the schedules and pick an event! Just remember to get your tickets early, before they sell-out!
